A Horse Called Fiction

Rachel Gillian North is 33 and has always lived in Devon. Her parents bought her first pony when she was 11 years old and this developed into a lifetime passion for all things equine. Rachel kept her first pony until he sadly passed away at the age of 35. She now has two American Quarter Horses who live with her at her rural home near Whiddon Down, near Exeter.  She has a keen interest in Equine Podiatry and enjoys helping horse owners to achieve healthy hooves, as well as helping out with the family business helping local businesses with digital marketing.

Rachel wrote her first 'book' when she was 7 and A Horse Called Ambition was her first full length novel.

With A Horse Called Ambition (2013) and A Horse Called Red (2016) she wanted to tell stories which real horse lovers, with real overdrafts and fears, could relate to.  It’s not all about riding; it’s mainly about getting covered in mud and gruelling hard work, especially in the winter months!

She also wanted to explore feelings and emotions, those which we have for our animals, each other, and perhaps most importantly, for ourselves.
